The indoor units contain a fan (to circulate the air in your room), a controller and a heat exchanger (which works like your radiator). These come in different shapes and colours and can be mounted on the wall, on the floor against a wall and even in the ceiling (if there is space). The outdoor units are quiet too. When in operation the noise generated is the equivalent to a domestic refrigerator running and you have those inside!
